Her journey began Jan. 11 in Las Cruces. She made stops in Alamogordo and Ruidoso on the first two legs of of the seven-day trip.
Rubio live streamed the journey via Facebook and Instagram as she spoke with communities about “the disconnectedness rural communities feel from the state government.”

Rubio, who traveled to the legislative session by bike previously, said this year she would highlight the rural communities of southeast New Mexico.
“I will address the Legislature, that I believe our country is polarized right now. I will cross the aisle in as many ways as I can. Especially in the way that I am riding my bike to demonstrate that we may not agree on the philosophies on how to get things done, we can create a supportive rapport in knowing that New Mexico is in a tight spot right now,” Rubio said.
